“Mr Gavin helped me in many ways through our sessions like making me more mature and im able to realise who i am somehow. He also helped me in how to build a better relationship with my family and my peers. His ways of helping are very effective and I thank him for that. Other than that, he is a fun and friendly guy who showed me some of his card trick skills which is one of the effective ways in making our sessions not boring.”

Sarah ng, 15 years old

“I think that Mr Gavin is quite a patient and helpful counsellor not only that he helps me in going through cases, he also supports me academically and quite friendly-going which allows me to share my expressions and problems in ease.”

John loh, 16 yeARS OLD

“Through this six months Mr Gavin has been there for me everytime I needed him. Through advises to talks, to knowing more about how society works and most importantly, to knowing myself better. After these sessions, I am able to step out to society being confident that i have changed and I can be a responsible and caring person. Not just to people around me but also, myself. These lessons learned from him made me love myself more and also by doing that, I can express myself better to my friends and family, which I feel is a neccesity to have in life.”

Mary Louise, 17 YEARS OLD

“Mr Gavin has helped me in learning to make the right choices in my life , as i was a pretty impulsive person that did not care much about what my actions would lead to and how it may affect others. However, after having attended counselling sessions with Mr Gavin for a period of time , i felt that i had changed and wasn’t as impulsive and irrational as before . He has also taught me how to open up to people as i was a very secretive person and did not like to communicate with others about how i feel , and i tend to bottle up my feelings which has led to numerous impulsive decision makings based on my feelings . After learning to open up and to communicate , i no longer make decisions based on how i feel or based on my mood .”

Isabelle has led the team in conducting programs for our graduating cohort for 5 years. In her capacity as team leader, she has led her team of facilitators in engaging students in understanding deep issues like Spirituality, Sexuality, Friendship, Family and Self. In my interactions with Isabelle, she comes across as a passionate and fun-loving person who is able to present serious issues in an engaging yet easy going manner. Isabelle possesses a great sense of humour and an unforced capacity to motivate people, particularly the young. Isabelle is solidly grounded in values.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all counselling sessions confidential?

Yes. All information shared within the session is kept private and confidential. We will not disclose details of the sessions to anyone without your express consent. In the case whereby the law requires the information and if you were to pose a danger to yourself or others, we are obliged to notify the relevant parties for your safety.

How many counselling sessions do I need ?

8 to 10 weekly sessions are a recommended number to show progress. However, there is no fix number or sessions an individual needs to attend. The number of sessions vary from individuals needs and the case’s complexity.

What do I expect at the first session ?

  • During your first visit , the counsellor assigned to you will go through a signed consent form.
  • Thereafter , the counsellor will spend 1 hour to conduct an intake session. During the intake session , the counsellor would gather information on the issues and challenges you are facing.
  • Through this process , we encourage you to be open and transparent towards sharing information. This would further aid the counsellor in making an assessment towards supporting you.

What if I need feedback about my therapist ?

We are open to receive both positive and negative feedback. We take feedback seriously as it would help us improve as counsellors towards providing a better service to you.

Will medication be provided?

We do not prescribe medication as we do not have an in-house psychiatrist. Clients deemed required can approach any clinic or psychiatrist for medicine.

Will I get a diagnosis in counselling or psychotherapy?

Counselling or psychotherapy does not provide a mental health diagnosis. You will require a psychological diagnosis or psychiatric evaluation to have a diagnosis.
