“How to escape the hectic pace in life?”

As I settled into a café for a refreshing drink, the bustling activity around me prompted introspection. In the vibrant city of Singapore, rapid living has become the norm. Recollections of my childhood resounded with phrases like “Quick, finish your meal before it gets cold,” “Hurry up, the car is approaching,” and “Speed up bedtime because you’re tired.”

As an adult, adopting a slower pace poses a greater challenge. Many individuals find themselves immersed in work from 9 am to 6 pm, carrying over unfinished tasks into their evenings, often at the expense of crucial life elements.

In the relentless pursuit of a high-speed lifestyle, some individuals consciously or unconsciously neglect fundamental aspects, including:

  • Unhealthy eating patterns
  • Inadequate sleep
  • Escalating mental stress

How can we recalibrate and decelerate?

Establishing clear boundaries in pivotal areas such as nutrition, sleep, and stress management can make a significant impact:

  • Relish your meals free from device distractions
  • Unplug from screens before bedtime
  • Participate in activities that bring joy and relaxation
